     The first Late Shri Annasaheb Godbole Memorial Award given away     
 
 

The first Late Shri. Annasaheb Godbole Memorial Award conferred posthumously upon Late Shri. Achyut Madhav alias Tatyarao Inamdar. The award was accepted by Smt. Achala Inamdar, wife of late Tatyarao's elder brother, in a function held at Abasaheb Garaware College Hall on the 21st July 2006. The award comprised of a memento, cash of Rupees ten thousand, a shawl-shreephal. The award was given away at the hands of Hon. Shri. Mohanji Bhagwat, Sarkaryvah, RSS. Shri. Yamaji Malkar, Editor, Daily Sakal was present as the chief guest while the function was presided over by Hon. Dr. Avinash Acharya, National President, Sahakar Bharati.
In his acceptance speech, elder brother of late Tatyarao expressed his feelings about his qualities as an organizer par excellence.
Shri. Mohanji Bhagwat in speech re-kindled memories of both late Shri Annnasaheb and late Shri. Tatyarao. He further said that contribution of Inamdar family was extraordinary. Three brothers from this family had dedicated lives to RSS. Late Shri. Tatyarao was very closely associated with Sahakar Bharati and had strived all his life for empowerment and overall development Co-operative Movement. Shri. Mohanji further observed that co-operative movement was a lethal weapon that can be used for the protecting interests of a common man for his exploitation. Hence it has to fall in right hands. Globalisation has no escape but it certainly is a transitory phase because it is directed at imbalanced, unjust benefits of a few mightier nations at the cost of developing countries' future. Only changed directed at universal good last the test of time and other fade into oblivion.
Shri. Yamaji Malakar in his speech said that only co-operative movement has potential to achieve development and empowerment of the subcontinent called India with population exceeding hundred crores. It is the only alternative that can counter merchandisation caused by globalization. The very reason that free economy has posed threat to our economy is because we have ignored principles of co-operative movement, he remarked.
Dr. Avanishji Acharya, National President of Sahakar Bharati, said that co-operative movement is an alternative to globalization. Co-operation is our tradition and we need no education into it. It is the foundation of our family system. In India it is an age old tradition. Little wonder then, that culture plays a very important role in Sahakar Bharati activities.
At this occasion website of Sahakar Bharati, (www.sahakarbharati.org) was launched. It consist information about history of the movements, the torch-bearers of this movement, various programmes organized by Sahakar Bharati, its periodicals, rate card, membership, etc.
In the same function the announcement was made that Sahakar Prashikshan Co-operative Society, Ltd. was granted sanction by Hon. Co-operative Commissioner & Registrar, Maharashtra State. Shri Shekhar Charegaonkar, Chief of this training centre was felicitated in at this time. Also Smt. Prabhatai Gokhale, Hon.Shri Bapusaheb Pujari, Chairman of Sangli Urban Bank were felicitated at this occasion.
The function began with a song by Shri. Suhas Shamgaonkar, Shri Uday Pendse, Editor, Sahakar Sugandh was the compare while Shri. Vijay Kulkarni, President, Sahakar Bharati, Pune proposed vote of thanks. The function was attended by people from all walks of life in a large number.
