Sahkar Bharti 7th State Convention inaugurated at the hands of renowned economist Dr. Narendra Jadhav (Vice-Chancellor, Pune University).
Hon. Shri. Jyotindrabhai Mehta, National President, Sahakar bharti, Mr. Satish Marathe, Mr. Anna Joshi (ex MP), Mr. Girish Bapat (MLA), Mr. Suryakant Pathak, Mr. Vidyadhar Anaskar, Mr. Pradeep Jagtap, Mr. Arvind Khaldkar, Mr. Vidyudhar Vaishampayan, Mr. Uday Karve, Mrs. Sandhyatai Kulkarni, Mr. Vasantaro Deodhar and 2000 representative of cooperative field were present on two days convention.
In a bid to brainstorm the intricate issues faced by the cooperative sector and to create a road map ahead, Sahakar Bharati organised its seventh state convention on December 22-23, 2007 at Pune.
The convention had attended of over 2,000 delegates representing over 500 cooperative institutions across the entire gamut of cooperative sector from Maharashtra state.
The delegate profile would include key decision makers from urban banks, credit societies, sugar cooperatives, consumer cooperatives and housing cooperatives.
The convention deliberates its theme `Relevance of cooperatives in the current economic scenario’ through a panel discussion among the various other events.
Convention Souvenir – Sahakar Sugandh, diaries for the year 2008 for the cooperative credit societies and urban cooperative banks released in the opening ceremony. Annasaheb Godbole award presented to Hon. Shri. Vasantrao Devpujari.
Late Annasaheb Godbole was the founder president of Sahakar Bharati, a registered non government organization, established in 1978, with the intention of propagating the culture of cooperative institutions across the country.
The objective of Sahakar Bharati includes improving the qualitative aspects in the cooperative institutions as also provide them with a platform to raise their concerns and issues. s
Sahakar Bharati has been organizing training sessions for the employees, directors and members of cooperative institutions to improve the qualitative part of the sector.
Over the past 29 years, Sahakar Bharati has its presence in 26 states of the country including Maharashtra.
